Riverman Rules
How do we find you?
Our address is 175 W River Road, Tahoe City, CA 96145. You can find driving directions and a Google map view on our Truckee River Rafting directions link, and remember to look for the bright YELLOW flags and our famous “Riverman” logo!
Don’t be confused! Truckee River Rafting is one of TWO raft companies in Tahoe City, located next door to one another. We are closest to the stoplight.
What do we wear?
Dress like a day to the beach! Leave your towels at home, they just get wet in the raft. Footwear is mandatory; flip flops are okay, water shoes are best.
Do we need life jackets?
We provide life jackets for everyone in the boat, only children 12 and under are required to wear them at all times. You may bring your own life jacket as long as they are U.S. Coast Guard approved.
Can we bring our own personal floaties?
No personal floaties are allowed.
Can we bring food and drinks?
Yes – small, soft coolers are welcome. Absolutely NO metal or styrofoam coolers allowed, and NO glass. Alcohol is permitted, but please drink responsibly.
Remember, there is an alcohol ban on the river over the 4th of July holiday period.
Can we bring our valuables?
Don’t bring anything on the raft you wouldn’t want to lose, or get wet. We suggest leaving rings, wallets, phones, keys etc. in your car or at home. We sell small water-proof bags in our store, and we also provide small lockers available to rent.
Where does the rafting trip end?
All rafters exit the Truckee River at the River Ranch pond, at the bottom of Alpine Meadows road. Our docks and employees are on the right hand side.

Are there any rapids?
There are 5 sets of mild rapids; however the last set of rapids just before River Ranch are the most challenging. Always keep your eyes down river!
