About Truckee River Rafting

Truckee River Rafting is a family-owned business that has been operating since 1973.

We offer self-guided rafting trips on the Truckee River, with commercial-grade rafts available for groups of 2 to 8 people per raft. The leisurely float takes approximately 2-3 hours, beginning in Tahoe City and ending at the River Ranch Restaurant. The rafting trip passes through scenic meadows, mountains, and small rapids, making it enjoyable for all ages (2 years and up). Rafters are encouraged to bring a small cooler with snacks and drinks but styrofoam and glass are not allowed. Our Truckee River Rafting experience is sure to create a fun and memorable adventure for all!

Riverman Season Update

Hello Rafters, We will be keeping a close eye on our Winter snowpack, a low snowpack, usually leads to an early start and long rafting season, a normal snowpack, usually leads to rafting in July and August, and a really big snowpack usually leads to no rafting that summer. We will know more about the snowpack in the Spring, stay tuned!

Best Way to Spend A Sunny Day

“From the first moment we entered the parking lot, we were treated to top notch customer service by every staff member we encountered. Parking was easy, restrooms were clean, and we were on the water within minutes of our arrival. Go early to enjoy a relaxing float down the river. Pack beverages and snacks so you can stop for a picnic. This is a perfect activity for the whole family. Kudos for a well-run operation. Worth every penny. We'll be back”

- Brigitte S.
